Catalog View

The Prospero Catalog View opens a selection window which allows you to select an existing Line, Column, or Report Definition(s). You can change the view by clicking on the Reports, Lines, or Columns radio button.

 

Within each Catalog View selection, you can search or sort by entering a value for the item (letter, number, or keyword) in the field where the magnifying glass  appears in the information columns. You can choose to open multiple items using the Shift or Ctrl keys and mouse-click OR the Shift key and down-arrow to select desired items. Each selected item will then open in the workspace. To de-select any chosen items select the entire row, being certain that all fields in the row are not selected.

 

Selecting the Reports radio button displays the Report Catalog View will return all existing reports and their information including Name, Label, Line, and Column Definitions used by the report, creation date and who created the report, modified date and who last modified the report, as well as when the report was last used.

 

 

After selecting the item(s), you can:

      Export - The Export option allows you to select a Report Definition to export and then import into a different Prospero entity or instance.

      Copy – The Copy option allows you to copy a list of the item(s) name, label, and information to the clipboard. You can then paste the list from the clipboard to Microsoft Word, Excel, or other notepad-style application.

      Open - The Open option allows you to open the item(s) in the Prospero workspace.

 

Selecting the Lines or Columns radio button displays the Line or Column Catalog Views will return all existing elements and their information including Name, Label, creation date and who created the element, modified date and who last modified the item, as well as when the item was last used.

 

 

After selecting the item(s), you can:

      Copy – The Copy option allows you to copy a list of the item(s) name, label, and information to the clipboard. You can then paste the list from the clipboard to Microsoft Word, Excel, or other notepad-style application.

      Open - The Open option allows you to open the item(s) in the Prospero workspace.

 

Access to Catalog View functionality is defined by permissions on the Role:

      Where the user’s Role has Permissions to “Run Reports” and “Maintain Building Blocks”, the Reports, Lines and Columns options and radio buttons will be available for selection. (The option to Export will be available for reports.)

      Where the user’s Role has Permissions to “Run Reports” (only), such as is usually defined for a Standard User License holder, only the Reports option and radio button will be available for selection. (The option to Export will not be available for reports.)

      Where the user’s Role has Permissions to “View Published Reports” (only), such as is usually defined for a Limited User License holder, only the Reports option and radio button will be available for selection and, where available, the last published version of the report will open provided the individual has the appropriate Assignments. (Where there is no published report available, the user will be presented with an error message. Also, the option to Export will not be available for reports.)

 

Note: The Catalog View is not available for Input Definitions.
