The Code field is used as both a reference for calculation formulas as well as defining and previewing how the font and color formatting will appear in the column on the report.
You can specify an alphanumeric identifier, or Code, for any column in your Column Definition and use it for any formulas that need to reference this column. For example, the first column could have a code field of ‘A’; the second column could have ‘B’ assigned as the code field, and so on. The Code must be unique within the given Column Definition. However, different Column Definitions can re-use the same Codes.
If a code value is referenced elsewhere in the Line Definition, such as in a formula, if the code is changed the formula will be automatically updated with the new value. (This does not apply where the code is used externally, such as in a Line Definition.)
