Column Sort Field

The Sort field allows you to define whether a column’s data will appear in ascending or descending order. The Column Definition Sort field must be used in conjunction with the Line Definition Sort field settings.

 

Options available include <Blank>, Ascending or Descending in the dropdown selection. Leaving the field <Blank> will apply no sort order to the column.

 

While you may define more than one column as sorted, only the first column marked for the sort will be used. In this case, when the Column Definition is saved, you will receive a warning, but you will not be prevented from saving the element.

 

If the Sort option has not been specified in both the Line and Column Definitions, sorting will not occur for the report. For more information, see the Line Sort Field topic.
