The Capital Calculation Task will update all existing Capital and Depreciation input data. Use this task whenever a capital type is added or modified.
The Capital Calculation Task can be run for a specific budget or forecast or using a Line Definition containing the prompts.
To run the Capital Calculation Task:
1. Select the Capital Calculation Task option on the Tools ribbon.
2. Select the plan in the Select dialog, and check the Run Task for All Prompts checkbox if you wish to run the task for all segments, regardless of whether there are assets defined in them:
3. Specify the prompts or use a Line Definition for the prompts. For more information, refer to the section on Creating Line Definitions for Prompts.
The Line Definition used must contain valid Segment criteria for all of the segments used by the input screen.
If the Line Definition does not contain valid criteria for all of the segments which require a prompt, you will receive the following error message and the task will not execute:

4. Select Ok to run the Calculation Task.
5. When the Task completes select Ok to continue.
Note: When running a Capital Calculation Task, if another user has the specific budget’s Data Input Workspace open for the prompt(s) specified, the task will treat the input set as read-only and no calculation task will be performed on the prompt/plan combination.
If you have licensed Prospero budgeting and reporting or budgeting-only, you will have access to the Capital Calculation Task options. However, you must have the “Input Capital Data” permission assigned on your Role and:
o If you are a Power User, Designer User, or Standard User license holder and have the “Input Capital Data” permission, you may run the Capital Calculation Task after you are prompted for an Input Definition.
o If you are a Power User or Designer User license holder and have the “Input Capital Data” permission, you may also run the Capital Calculation Task from the Input Definition.
When the user has read-only access or the Read-only Capital Screens permission defined on the Role, the Capital Calculation Task will be disabled.
