Tools Ribbon

The Tools ribbon contains many of the specific Tools designed to help you manage and view activities in Prospero.

 


The features available on this ribbon include:

      Current Users List – Displays the current active users logged in to the system.

      Activity Log – Opens an activity log to view routine system activity such as updates, deletions, or additions to data or items within Prospero.

      Error Log – Opens a log of errors, messages, and other events that may help troubleshoot issues in Prospero.

      Import Definitions – This option allows you to import Report Definitions from one Prospero instance or entity to another. The Report Definition and its elements – Lines, Columns, or Trees – must first be exported from the Catalog View located on the Reports Navigation pane.

      Send Message – Allows you to send a message to all users who are currently logged in to Prospero. The message will appear as a pop-up on the user’s Prospero workspace.

      Remove Lock or Manage Locks – Allows you to remove locks on Prospero elements – such as Line, Column, Report, or Input Definitions and Report Collections – to allow other users to access them. Locks on elements can occur if Prospero closes unexpectedly for any reason.

If you have licensed Prospero budgeting and reporting or budgeting-only, you will can manage locks to remove locks on Input Definitions and the Input screen.

      Resummarize – Re-summarizes data related to Trees to verify that summary calculations in Prospero are correct.

      Data Extract – Allows you to extract segment data directly from the Prospero database. The data you extract must correspond to a Column Definition (periods only), which can then be exported to an Excel file or viewed in the workspace.

      Transaction Extract – A tool which allows you to extract transactional details from the Prospero database.

      Add Year to Calendar – This option is only active when the Calendar workspace is open. This option allows you to add twelve periods to your calendar. For more information, see Adding Calendar Information.

      Copy Plan – This option allows you to copy data from one Input Definition to another Input Definition. For more information refer to the Copy Plan topic.

If you have licensed Prospero budgeting and reporting or budgeting-only, you will have access to this option.

      HR ManagementThis option opens the main repository of all employee IDs and information available for an Input Definition. Prospero budgets the correct share of the employee's total salary and related Human Resources expenses to each Department. For more information about budgeting salary and other Human Resources-related expenses by individual employee, please see the Human Resources Tab.

If you have licensed Prospero budgeting and reporting or budgeting-only and you have the “Use Human Resources Management” permission, you will have access to this option.

      Calculation Task – The Calculation Task option allows update of all existing input data in the system when a calculation formula is changed. If you have licensed Prospero budgeting and reporting or budgeting-only, you will have access to this option.

      HR Calculation Task – The HR Calculation Task option allows update of all existing HR input data in the system when a calculation formula is changed.
